Event Info

The Optimise Health Peak2Park event will proceed rain, hail or shine unless there is an extreme weather event, in which case an alert will be issued via this website and the Peak2Park Toowoomba Facebook page.

Peak2Park was established in 2005 when a group of like-minded individuals came together with a vision to develop an annual fun run/walk. Peak2Park is an independent organisation supported by local people looking to encourage Toowoomba and the district to participate in exercise while raising funds for local charities.

Peak2Park makes the most of Toowoomba's scenic parks and gardens by beginning at the beautiful Picnic Point on the scenic rim of the Great Dividing Range and finishing at lovely Lake Annand, with its wide expanses of lawn.

Since the first Peak2Park in March 2006, it has attracted over 50,000 participants and volunteers and raised close to $500 000 for local charities. The event is an ongoing success because of the continuing involvement and support of families, schools, local businesses and volunteers.

Things to know

  • Transport and Parking

    Getting to the start line

Signed Car Parking may be available (rain-dependent) on the large grassed area (Heller Street Park, entry from lower side at Rowbotham Street) next to Picnic Point from 6am, where SES volunteers will act as guides. Additional parking is available on Rowbotham Street and side streets. Please ensure park in available street parking and do not obstruct driveways. Please be sensitive of noise levels, as this is a residential location. Police will be on hand to assist the flow of traffic. Participants will need to walk the short distance from parking to the starting line.

    Getting home after the event

Participants will need to arrange their own transport from the finish line after the event. Please be aware that road closures will affect route access.

  • Medical and Safety

If you are unable to continue at any point along the course, you should seek the assistance of an event official, event marshall or SES volunteers and Police officers who will obtain help as soon as possible.
